Grading Policy
All of the Art and Desktop Publishing classes have the same grading policy at all levels. It is:
40% Class participation
40% Projects
20% Worksheets & Quizzes
Class participation means they are actively engaged in ART class for the entire period. Not sleeping, doing homework for another class or fooling around. It means they are a good citizen of the class, take care with materials and help to clean up and put away materials at the end of class. In Desktop Publishing it also means that they are staying on the appropriate web sites used in class and they are not surfing the web. 40%
Each project may take several days to complete. Students will be told what is needed to complete each assignment. Through demonstrations, practice and examples students will be able to complete each project in class. We will talk about the success of each project and the grade will be determined based on fulfilling the requirements. 40 %
Worksheets on the different periods of art or individual artist are used to reinforce class projects. A quiz may be given after a demonstration or video reviewing the material or vocabulary learned. In addition Desktop students will be answering questions about the material presented during class and read in the texts20%
